Greetings from Wyler Antiques!

Continuing talking about my Mother's trip to England, both in London and the Countryside, this week's Announcement will be focusing on glassware. This is an area that we have tried to increase with interesting articles and thus, my Mother purchased several exciting pieces that we would like you to know about. To learn more about glassware, please visit our website under the glassware section to learn about its history as well as the different styles and designs.
To begin this week's Announcement, is this charming Antique Arts and Crafts English Glass Vase. Don't you love the contrast with the vibrant straight green lines curving upwards to meet with the horizontal lines on the top band? The detail work on this piece is exceptional and we hope that you like this Vase as much as we do.
Who would not love to own our stunning Arts and Crafts Antique English Green Glass Hyacinth Vase? Having a thinner and more slender body than the usual hyacinth vases is a look that this vase has, and thus, makes it quite appealing.
A stunning Antique Cobalt Blue English Glass Hyacinth Vase. The shape of this vase like our previous green one, is quite different than the 'norm'. It expands a little right above the base which makes this vase more interesting and unique.
We are thrilled to have purchased this extremely unusual large Antique English Bell Shaped Decanter. It is a wonderful piece (in our opinion) with its star-cut base, original stopper, and a shaped attached handle. Red wine will look terrific in this decanter and will make your next table setting, more appealing.
Speaking of the color red, our striking Antique Cranberry Glass Decanter is a 'special' piece. Upon seeing it, my Mother decided to immediately purchase it. The original faceted glass stopper and the applied rope twist handle exemplify the detailed work on this piece. Cranberry glass has always been quite popular and has never gone out of style. We hope that you like it as much as we do.
Our very stylish Antique English Hexagonal Cut Glass Decanter is quite appealing and was made during the English Regency, late Georgian period. Being hexagonal in shape (six-sided) makes this piece unique and quite interesting.
Our next 4 items in this Announcement are going to focus on 20th century Arts and Crafts Glass Finger Bowls. Glassware at this time is characterized by its emphasis on intricate designs, flowing forms, and wavy lines. This is a very sharp contrast to the traditional and more formal designs of the 19th century. All of our finger bowls can be used for cold soups, a scoop of ice cream (with chocolate sauce), or any condiment you may wish to use.
A delightful Antique 20th Century Red Glass Finger Bowl having a wavy rim and a ruffled edge. The color red is quite vibrant in this piece.
A striking Antique 20th Century Green Glass Finger Bowl. On the clear glass is an applied green 'thread' which wraps around the bottom portion of the bowl.
A lovely and unusual Antique 20th Century Clear Glass Finger Bowl. We hope that you are able to see in the photos, the wonderful iridescent band which resonates near the bottom of the piece. This iridescent band picks up any colors that are nearby. What a great conversation piece this is!
To finish off this week's Announcement is our very attractive but subdued Antique 20th Century Lavender Glass Finger Bowl. The detail work consists of horizontal lines as well as wavy lines which both are prevalent throughout the entire piece. This bowl really makes a statement!
All of these Finger Bowls are wonderful to collect and having different colors makes them all quite special.
We hope that you have found this Announcement interesting, enjoyable, and informative. If you would like to know more information about any of these articles, please visit the Antique Glassware pages on our website. There you will see the various pieces that we have discussed as well as others.
