WEEKLY NOTES

April 11, 2024

Greetings Saint Paul's Friends and Family,

This past Sunday, we had a JOYFUL time celebrating Holy Humor Sunday as we launch into our current sermon series, “Joy, Unspeakable JOY”!  (Well, your pastors had a GREAT time and now wondering if we should become professional comedians!)

In a world often marked by challenges and uncertainties, the call to be lights of joy and hope as Christians becomes ever more essential. As followers of Christ, we are invited to embody the joy that comes from a deep and abiding relationship with our Creator. Just as laughter is said to be the best medicine, joy has the power to uplift spirits, transform lives, and bring healing to brokenness.

So, with the spreading and cultivation of JOY in mind, our question for you is this: What’s the best VITAMIN for a Christion to take???

B1  :)

Your pastors, Latricia and MaryAnn

The 11:00 service is live-streamed on Facebook, YouTube and on our website

Warren Willis Workday

Saturday, April 13th- 9:00am-5:00pm

In continuation of our monthly Warren Willis Camp service days, we invite you to come join us and Bishop Berlin on Saturday, April 13th, from 9:00 am (please arrive by 11:00 am) to 5:00 pm for a Summer Camp Prep and Clean-up Day. Let’s work together to create a vibrant space for an unforgettable Summer Camp experience for all the campers who come to Warren Willis this summer. It’s a day of service and bonding, where we’ll unite to spruce up our beloved campgrounds and make creative props for the Games of Life summer theme. We will have plenty of water, Gatorade, and pizza for everyone. Let’s get our hands dirty for a good cause! This is your opportunity to make a real difference for all our summer campers. We can’t wait to see the extraordinary impact we can make together!

Church Workday

Saturday, April 20- 8:00am-2:00pm

It's the Church Workday! Come spend time with your church family spiffing up the inside areas of the church and the grounds outside. Sign-ups will start Wednesday, April 3. Coffee will be available starting at 7:30. For questions, call Stephanie Corry at 850-566-4975.

Men’s Study Fellowship

All men are invited to a study fellowship, a "reading community", Tuesdays 8:30am at Ology Northside, Kerry Forest Parkway. We are now reading CASTE:  The Origin of Our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson.

"The Pulitzer Prize-winning author examines the unspoken caste system that has shaped America and shows how our lives today are still defined by a hierarchy of human divisions."

Contact David Gill (352-223-2759) if you have any further questions.

Village Square Event

Thursday, April 18th

The Village Square hosts “Finding Higher Ground in the School Wars,” the God Squad season finale on Thursday, April 18th at 5:30 pm at St. John’s Episcopal Church.

In a culturally, religiously and racially diverse society like ours, it's not surprising that the culture wars have Officially Hit Our Schools. When you clear away the noise, at the core of the struggle is this: what should our schools teach our children—and who decides? As usual, God Squad will bring more light (less heat) to a discussion that needs a little help.

This event includes drinks and heavy appetizers. The program is $15, with a free ticket option. For more information and to reserve your seat:

Hello from Leslie!

Hello everyone!

As you are making plans for this summer keep in mind that Vacation Bible School is just around the corner. Please register your children if you plan on them attending. Also, if you are interested in volunteering for VBS, please make sure to register as well.

On April 28th, we will be hosting a VBS Volunteer Potluck after the 11 AM church service for all our volunteers - both adult and youth - to get acquainted and share ideas for VBS. If you are registered as a volunteer, you will receive more information about this and other important details via email. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.

Furthermore, if you plan on volunteering with the children's or youth's ministries in any capacity, you must be trained in our Safe Sanctuaries Policy. This training must take place annually. This year we are offering two sessions, the first of which will be after Wednesday Night Supper on May 22nd at 6:15. Please make plans to attend.

Blessings,

Leslie Scott
