Halston Closed
The Halston Bridge will be closed from Sunday, April 7 to Monday, April 8 between the hours of 10M - 6AM. Drivers are asked to use alternate routes, as well as obey speed limits, traffic control devices, and flag persons. Indigenous Community-Led Wildland Fire Response
On April 4th, 2024, Tkwenem7íple7 Nikki hosted BC Premier David Eby at the launch of the Indigenous Community-Led Wildland Fire Response micro-credential, a collaborative initiative with Thompson Rivers University (TRU). Tkwenem7íple7 Nikki delivered opening remarks and extended a welcome to the territory. This initiative aims to provide university-level education on wildfire management, response, and safety, influenced by recommendations from the Premier’s Task Force. Tk̓emlúps Kukpi7 Rosanne, a member of the Task Force, played a crucial role in shaping these recommendations, which will guide future education on wildfire response and climate change adaptation at TRU.

Exciting Spring Break Camp
The Spring Break Camp at Full Circle Youth Center was a great success, providing two weeks of exciting activities and cherished moments for Tk̓emlúps youth. The camp featured outdoor adventures, creative workshops, team-building exercises, and arts and crafts, fostering a love for nature and creativity. The dedicated staff made it all happen, and the center thanks parents and guardians for their trust. Everyone involved is appreciated for being part of the Full Circle Youth Center community!

Wildland Firefighting Training
Wildland Firefighting Training starts May 6! The program will he held at Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc and registration is open to anyone in the Secwépemc Nation (Kamloops area). Earth Day
Join the Ttes Lands, Leasing & Tax Department for an Earth Day Clean-Up event on Monday, April 22, 2024, starting at 8:30 am behind the MSG Parking Lot. Garbage bags and disposable gloves will be provided. Throughout the day, there will be drinks and light snacks available. Lunch, refreshments, and door prizes will be provided for volunteers at Full Circle Youth Centre at noon. Please note that garbage pick-up is limited to specified TteS roadways. Youth Employment Program
The Outland Youth Employment Program (OYEP) offers youth the opportunity to earn a wage, gain high school credits, and earn tickets/certificates. Participants need to travel to the pickup location in Kamloops and be willing to work away from home for the full months of July and August. The program typically runs for six weeks, with flexible start and end dates.
