Pope Francis’ April Intention We pray that the dignity and immense value of women be recognized in every culture, and for the end of discrimination that they experience in different parts of the world.
|
Weekly Bible Reflection
“Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, ‘Peace be with you.’ but they were startled and frightened...’” - Luke 24:36-37
Throughout the day we have many opportunities to “see the face of Jesus” in others and to “be the face of Jesus” to others. Do we take that opportunity to provide “peace” to those we encounter or are we afraid of what others will think of us and do nothing? Pray for the strength and courage to live a “God-centered” life and not a “self-centered” life. Copyright © 2024 Archdiocese of St. Louis |

| CHALICE CHILD SPONSORSHIP PROGRAMApril 27/28
Chalice works in impoverished communities to help struggling families overcome the cycle of poverty. Education is the first and most important step in breaking the cycle. Too often, children must skip class or drop out of school to carry water, care for siblings, or earn money for their families. Sponsorship gives children the support needed to overcome obstacles so they can attend and stay in school, and allows families to provide nutritious food and better care for their children. Children are selected for sponsorship based on need and family circumstances, regardless of race, age, ability, gender, or religion. Education gives every child the opportunity to shine. There will be an opportunity given to sponsor a child (or children) on the weekend of April 27/28. |
