475 people is a lot of people, but when you spread those people between two worship services and three LifeGroup hours, we lack the positive energy that 475 people would experience if they were all worshiping together in one room.

I believe that we no longer need three LifeGroup hours and two worship services. In the coming days, you will receive a survey by email asking questions about the things you value in your First Baptist Church experience so that the things you value are not lost in a reconsolidation plan. If we hold tightly to Jesus and each other, we can reorganize without “giving the devil a foothold” (Ephesians 4:27).

I believe God has great things in store for the church that is His bride.

Looking Up!

Dr. Randy Wallace

While observing (with my properly equipped cardboard-encased protective lenses) the event, I could not help but wonder how can people travel great distances for an “experience” yet deny the existence of the Creator and so many other wonders of our beautiful, intelligently, created universe. This was one of those moments where creation itself was crying out to experience the wonder and majestic power of God.

Our last two G.R.O.W. groups are off to a great start. Our others will conclude in just a few weeks, and summer will be upon us with all its events (family vacations, VBS, Alaska Mission Trip, and Children and Youth Camps).

Let me encourage you to remember to prioritize personal and family spiritual discipleship as you make your plans, and please remember, we will “leave a light on for you.”

Finally, LifeGroup Leaders please remember that we will meet after Sunday’s service at 12:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall for our quarterly meeting. Do not forget to email or text me your sandwich preference (Turkey, Ham). See you Sunday!

Let’s GROW First!

Check out our current and upcoming G.R.O.W. classes offered this season!

Our 9:45 Blended Worship Service will feature hymns and familiar songs targeting this group, followed by an encouraging message from the pastor. Then, directly following, we will head to the Fellowship Hall for a catered meal by Big Hoss BBQ and entertainment and stories from one of my predecessors, Charles Hardage!

It’s going to be a great morning and I hope you won’t miss it. Keep an eye out for your invitation and get back to us with your RSVP!

Children's Camp is currently $375 per child. We plan to reduce the cost by half, making it more affordable and accessible to more families. Pastor Bud has selected CentriKid camp to reach more households.

Youth Camp costs have gone up by $200+ in the past 15 years. Initially, it cost $150 per student, but this price has since escalated every year. Presently, we're charging $325 per student. This can be a significant burden for families with multiple students attending camp.

Join our envelope drive to make camp affordable for children and students. Your donation can help over a hundred students affordably attend camp this year by selecting an envelope ranging from $1 to $300. Find a student in the foyer before and after each service they can help with your donation.

You can also reach out to Pastor Bud or me. Thank you for all you do!

Let’s send the kids to Camp!

Make sure to check out the Youth Website for details on upcoming events. We’d love to see your students on Sundays and Wednesdays! If your student is not plugged into the student ministry, it’s never too late. We’d love for them to join us.

Check the Crossroads and weekly bulletin for more youth activities.

How did that turn out?

Well, day became night at 1:30 in the afternoon. Streetlights turned on and cars had headlights on! What an experience!

It will be 20 years before anything resembling an eclipse will happen again, but how fortunate are we for the time and place God has put us in. We get opportunities from Him to experience and witness His glorious works that we cannot describe.

Volunteers are needed for those hours as well but on a once-a-month basis.

If you are interested, please contact Pastor Bud bolmstead@fbckilleen.com.

NOTE: You will be screened and background checked, and must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification.
