Open to all youth singers living in or attending school in Lafayette, Moraga, or Orinda, grades K-12 as soloists or in groups...

Send It To The Moon: A Circle of Short Plays
Spring '24 Theatre Production
Send It To The Moon is a circle of short plays inspired by the Moon. Spanning time and genre, the Seniors enlist the help of student performers on campus to help tell this range of stories from Merchant sailors in a Poe story, to Helen of Troy, to a modern woman vying for a part in a Renaissance Faire play, and more.

When: April 18th - 21st
Where: LeFevre Theatre, 1928 St. Mary's Road, Moraga

Artist's Sketch Crawl
in partnership with Moraga Art in Public Spaces 
Join Saint Mary's College Museum of Art (SMCMoA) and the Town of Moraga in our 1st Artist's Sketch Crawl!

Here's how it works...

Meet at the SMCMoA at 1 pm. Bring your own artist's materials and sketchpad. These can be pencils, ink, watercolor, charcoal, etc.

Artists will select a place on campus to sketch for 30 minutes; after the first 30 minutes, they will move to a new location and start a second sketch, then a third location for another 30 minutes and a third sketch. Artists will meet at the museum to share the three sketches at 3 pm.

When: Saturday, April 27th, 1 - 3 pm
Where: SMCMoA, 1928 St. Mary's Road, Moraga
Price:  Free and open to all. This program is best suited for 12+ and up.

"10 Common Writing Issues I See in My Clients' Work" with Eric Elfman

Eric Elfman is the New York Times best-selling author of books for kids and adults, including I Am the Walrus (from Little Brown), the first book of The N.O.A.H. Files trilogy, co-written with Neal Shusterman.

As a screenwriter, Eric has sold four screenplays to Hollywood studios (three co-written with Neal).

Their screenplay CLASS ACT, based on the true story of a 6th-grade teacher who ran for Congress with her 11-year-old students as her campaign committee was purchased by Revolution Productions, and set up at Dreamworks with Halle Berry attached to star.

Eric will cover things he often sees as a writing coach, for example, Passive Protagonists, Passive Voice, Slow Beginnings, and lack of forward story momentum. Attendees will learn to recognize and correct these issues in their work as they revise.

World-renowned cabaret/jazz artist Natalie Douglas returns to the Orinda Theatre with her stunning tribute to Roberta Flack. In 2022, Roberta Flack, a Grammy legend, was sadly diagnosed with ALS. Now, Natalie Douglas and musical director Mark Hartman lovingly celebrate the hallmarks of her career and the impact her music and artistry have made throughout the world.

On top of winning a multitude of awards for her legendary cabaret shows, Natalie Douglas has won 13 MAC Awards (Manhattan Association of Cabarets). Natalie has brought audiences to their feet from the stages of Carnegie Hall and Birdland Jazz Club (where she holds a decades-long residency) to concert halls in the UK, Italy, Greece, Monaco, Argentina, and beyond.

Laugh-ayette Stand-Up Comedy Show

Bay Area Comics presents a Stand-up Comedy Showcase of the TOP independent comedians in the business. 

Headliner Dennis Gaxiola is one of America's funniest clean comedians. The preacher's son and Air Force veteran has over 20 National Television appearances, including Comedy Central's Laffapalooza with Jamie Foxx and Stand Up Revolution with Gabriel Iglesias.

The evening is hosted by Ryan Rodriguez and features Shanti Charan, Guile Mosher, Tramane Webb, and Jonny Rios.
