The mathematical foundations of temperament tuning are elegantly simple, yet remain an elusive mystery to many in our trade. We'll use simple, elementary-level math to understand partials, interval relationships, why some intervals are tuned wide, and why some intervals are tuned narrow.

Last month Duncan Peterson taught a class on soundboards.

Duane McGuire also taught a stringing workshop for a small group.

James Williams is always looking for old coin operated player pianos from brands like Seeburg, AMPICO, Wurlitzer, Coinola, Peerless, Empress, Welte-Mignon, and others. Some of these pianos are larger than other uprights, and have stained glass on the front. He is also looking for player piano rolls and other player piano parts. If you know of or come across any of these pianos or parts, he would love to know.
