Residential Update
Rondo CLT Staffing Updates
Welcome Shawn Wignall!
Please join us in welcoming Shawn Wignall, our newest staff member. Shawn started at the beginning of April as Mikeya Griffin (Rondo CLT's ED)'s new Executive Assistant. Very excited to join our team, Shawn shared that she came to Rondo CLT because she supports its work and mission.
For fun, Shawn and her husband Shawn (yes, we know - it's confusing) enjoy living life on the edge, seeking out haunted hotels to spend time in.
Rondo CLT in Community
Tour with the American Planning Association (APA)
On April 13th, along with ReConnect Rondo and the City of Paul, Rondo CLT hosted the American Planning Association on a tour of its commercial work along Selby Avenue. The tour, which was part of a 3 day conference, focused on the historic Rondo Community, exploring how land trusts operate and preserve affordability for residential and commercial development, and delved into recent efforts to establish an African American Cultural enterprise district anchored by a 5-block land bridge over interstate 94.
We'd like to extend a special thank you to Nieeta Presley, Dr. Robin Hickman-Winfield (SoulTouch Productions, Rondo CLT commercial tenant), Ilka Bird (Get Gorgeous), and KiJana Jones (Lip Esteem, Rondo CLT commercial tenant) for speaking with members of the APA.
NCRC Conference
In early April, Coco, Rondo CLT's Deputy Director, presented at the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC)'s Just Economy Conference. Alongside Aaron Miripol (Urban Land Conservancy), Aaron Martinez (Urban Land Conservancy), and Brenda Torpy (Champlain Housing Trust), Coco provided a deep dive into the commercial land trust model, exploring its ability to stabilize local economies and strengthen communities.

Please Consider Supporting our Work
Rondo CLT builds community wealth and neighborhood stability through the development and stewardship of perpetually affordable homeownership opportunities, rental housing, commercial space, and other community assets.
Each new property that enters the community land trust starts a cycle of affordability for generations of low to moderate income earning families and local small business owners. Your donation makes all of this possible. Thank you.
Attending a Rondo CLT Orientation is the first step in the application process. Orientations happen every other week on Wednesdays at noon. Click the link below for additional information and to register for an orientation today!
