Gabrielle Dudley, Carrie Hintz named as interim co-directors of Rose Library

With a wealth of knowledge and expertise in archives and special collections, each will also maintain their current roles at Rose, Dudley as its assistant director for public services, Hintz as the associate director. King left in March for a position with Boston University Libraries.

Benny Andrews one-man show, music event set for Apr. 25
Reserve your spot now for “Benny Andrews: The Man from Plainview” on Thursday, Apr. 25, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Woodruff Library’s Jones Room. This is a one-man show directed by Atlanta-based actor and Clark Atlanta theater professor Garry Yates, with live music that includes Emory business major and music student Evan Covey on guitar and Tina Dunkley on vocals.
Open to the public at no charge, the event is presented in conjunction with “At the Crossroads with Benny Andrews, Flannery O’Connor, and Alice Walker.” This exhibition, on display through July 12, examines how the work of these three Georgia-raised creatives intersects in O’Connor’s short story “Everything that Rises Must Converge” through materials from their collections, all housed at Emory’s Rose Library. (Dunkley is one of the curators.)
Help us change harmful subject terms to more inclusive language
Emory students and faculty are invited to help change library cataloging language for the better.
We’re asking you to share your feedback about library subject terms now considered offensive or outdated and to let us know how to make them more inclusive. Below you’ll find a link to a blog post with background on the project that will connect you to a form to share your feedback.
Please respond by Tuesday, April 23, and you're welcome to share the blog with other Emory students, faculty, and staff. We thank you for your participation in this important project.
