You can get your Ranger Passport by attending Cub's Explore the Woods at Camp K on May 4th!

Native Pennsylvania Wildlife surrounds us every day!  This action-packed event is a great way for Cub Scouts to get energized for spring! Join us at Cubs Explore the Woods on Saturday May 4th at Camp Karoondinha to learn about our native Pennsylvania wildlife and our woods surrounding camp! We are partnering with the Middle Susquehanna Riverkeepers Association for this event! Registration will begin at 8AM with the event beginning promptly at 9AM.

Cubs will spend a full day learning about native animals, birds, and reptiles.  They will also be a part of a STEM experiment, learn some principles of Leave No Trace, make a snack during campfire cooking, and make a craft.

Cost is $10 per Scout and includes activities and event patch! The adult leader and staff fee is $5 per person. Please bring a bagged lunch and a water bottle.

Units will be together in groups during this event.  Each unit is required to have two deep leadership present for their Scouts.  Additionally, there MUST be one adult leader for every 8 scouts present (with a minimum of 2 adult leaders to meet the two deep leadership requirement.)

Interested in staffing this event? Reach out to event chair Marissa Crames at MJCrames@outlook.com.

Come out and put your detective skills to the test!  There has been a crime committed and we need our Scouting detectives to join us in the investigation to discover what led to the crime and who our unsub is. Collect evidence, run forensic tests, and present your case. This event is being put on in partnership with the Penn State University Department of Forensic Science.

This Council Camporee is being held at Camp Karoondinha on Friday May 10-12 starting at 6PM on Friday and going until Sunday at 12PM.

Join us in going an initial investigation of the crime scene on Friday evening and spend all day Saturday conducting a forensic investigation to discover who the unsub is and the timeline of the crime!

Youth fee for this camporee is $20.  Adult leaders and staff fee is $15.

Caution on use of Camp K

The Susquehanna Council has contracted to harvest timber in the southern section of camp to thin the forest as a forest management measure in that part of camp. This section of camp is entirely forested area. The cutting of trees began in late February. The southern section of camp is off limits for use for any activity until the tree cutting and cleanup is complete. The off-limits area includes all of the Boundary Road and the Boundary Trail.

All the facilities and main activity areas at camp are available for use and not within the off-limits area.

Note: the logging trucks will be using the Boundary Road and Thomas Dam Road for access to and from the harvest area. Thus, Boundary Road is closed. Extra caution is advised when using Thomas Dam Road.
