Dear Friends,
It has been a long haul, but finally the book is done! Thank you for following its course by reading my newsletter over the past several months.
THANKS
And thanks to so many of you who’ve helped along the way: early readers, later readers, my editor, the team at She Writes Press, the members of my husband Vince’s fiction writing classes, my publicist, and my website designer. Also, my brother Jonathan, who’s more British than I, for correcting my American expressions, and Vince and my adult children Jenny and James, who have listened sympathetically as I’ve talked and fretted about the book for the past four years.
I hope you enjoy it. I’d appreciate your honest review, especially on Amazon after publication.
DEDICATION
The book is dedicated to my father, Gordon Thallon Stewart. Reading his unpublished memoir about an experience in World War II inspired me to write the book. He died before we had an opportunity to discuss it. This true-life event described in the book is surely only one of many untold stories about the war. The story is known, but not widely, and I thought it deserved telling and preserving.
