Evangela Q. Oates, Ph.D., is the Associate University Librarian for Student Success at the University Libraries, University of Minnesota Twin Cities. Dr. Oates is charged with providing strategic direction for the departments in the Student Success Service Area, a division comprised of: Access and Information Services, Affordable Learning and Open Education, Engagement, Outreach, and Community Partnerships, and Student Experience, Learning, and Accessibility.

April 22 - “Black Wild Girl” Book Reception

BFSA members have been invited to a book release reception on April 22, 2024 from 4:00 - 6:00 in the Lindahl Founders room of Northrop Auditorium.

The book, Blackwildgirl, was written by Dr. Menah Pratt., Vice President for Strategic Affairs and Diversity and Professor of Education at Virginia Tech.  Dr. Pratt has been an ACE fellow at the U of M this year. Dr. Pratt’s book, Blackwildgirl: A Writer’s Journey to Take Back her Superpower, an autobiography of her life journey from Black girlhood to Black womanhood in America. Free copies of the book will be available at the event.
