An extraordinary General Meeting was convened online on 14 February 2024 due to the written request for an Extraordinary General Meeting of ¼ of the ERA full members regarding a new approval of the ERA constitution. The changes according to the Tax office in Germany were approved unanimously. The minutes of the extraordinary General Meeting are available here.

The European Ramblers Association (ERA) Board Meeting took place from February 22 to 25, 2024, in Mandelieu-la-Napoule, France, with the kind support of the Centre Expo Congrès in Mandelieu. A part of the meeting was allocated to partnerships and collaborations. A new contract between ERA and the International Aqua Walking (IAW) was signed to assure the ongoing aqua walking games and to spread this increasing activity among ERA members. The 3rd International Aqua Walking Games and Aqua Beach Trail will be held from 11 – 13 October 2024 in Mandelieu, France.

What are the trends with the membership in Europe and how to increase the number of individual members? A topic “Enlargement of individual members in member organisations” can show some good examples of our member organisations, how to increase membership. A part of the ERA Spring Webinar will be the results of the questionnaire for the ERA MOs and their membership base. The last collection of actual data from ERA member organizations was taken in 2018/2019 for the commemorative book to the 50th ERA anniversary. The actual data will help us refresh our information about your organisation and answer some questions related to membership. Following the great “discussion table” about the future look of the ERA conference, the ERA Board decided to adapt the meeting parts of the conference. Also, the know-how sessions should correspond with the interests of participants. For that reason, a short survey was created.
