A Word from our Chief Executive Officer, Mark A. Smith
From bagpipes to bugles and voices to violins, the room was alive with music at the first anniversary of the Peter J. Daley Cultural Center on April 20 and 21. An estimated 350 supporters, parents, and students enjoyed over eight continuous hours of talent from the MVAA programs centered at the Cultural Center and the corporate office in Charleroi, Pa. During the celebration, the young and mature students from the Tri-County area performed on the original American Legion setting along with the newly renovated “MVAA Penthouse” on the second floor of the Center. With the gracious help of DCED SW Director Johnna Pro and UPMC Health Plan Senior Community Relations Manager Dana Scarpino, the Peter J. Daley Center has become a cultural hub in downtown Brownsville. With the newly renovated studios, the MVAA can now meet Mr. Daley's vision with a vibrant arts and cultural Center available to the entire Mon Valley.
Exciting plans are in the works for the final completion of a sound studio, easy access for all, and up-to-date scheduling for lessons, seminars, and performances. Stay tuned! Subscribe to the MVAA newsletter and be a part of our inspiring journey.
