LWV Joins Selma Jubilee: Bloody Sunday refers to the day in 1965 when law enforcement in Selma, AL, violently attacked hundreds of civil rights activists marching for the right to vote. This year the League  joined the annual  Selma Jubilee, to honor the legacy of those who risked their lives for equal rights and representation. Read more.

Deepfakes & the Election: LWV urges Senators to curb the negative impacts of AI in our elections, including by combating deepfakes. “Voters deserve to know that the political advertisements they see and hear are free of misleading information or fraudulent misrepresentation.” Read more.

LWVO is offering a $5,000 fixed price contract position of about 20 hours/week, mid-August to mid-October, to support our general election Candidate Forums.  Tasks will include developing lists of candidates and contacts; communicating with candidates regarding their availability; coordinating translations; posting recordings on YouTube; creating Wix events and Canva flyers.
