BRAINS OF THE YEAR!

Thank you to everyone who supported The Stithians Centre Quiz Fundraiser on 27 April which raised £589 for Centre funds, along with £162 for Little Harbour Children's Hospice.

It was definitely a full house with a record 17 teams and 92 quizzers enjoying an evening of friendly competition.

Congratulations to the winning team, 'The Witches of East Road'. Second and third places were hotly contested with just one point in it and in the end 'Simple Minds' and 'The Young Ones' shared second place, with 'A Load of Old Pauls' and 'Anflamm Keltek' sharing third.

Our next quiz will be Jeremy's Pop Quiz on Saturday 5 October. Look out for more information coming soon.

THANK YOU . . .

. . . for bearing with us while flooring contractors were on site. The Stithians Centre now boasts a much smarter foyer, library, Crellow Room and storeroom. The old red carpet has been removed from all these areas and replaced with heavy duty, wood effect, vinyl flooring to match Hendra and Foundry Rooms. The new flooring doesn't just look smart, it will be more comfortable, durable and easy to clean. Do come and have a look.

LAST CHANCE SALOON!!

Save The Stithians Times
Appeal for new editor

The much loved Stithians Times has been going successfully for almost 40 years and needs a new editor soon if it is to make 41.

This is your chance to help your community by spreading the news, keeping people up to date with what is happening across the parish and developing the Times as a digital force.

There are six editions a year. Your main task would be finding interesting copy and photos and pulling the paper together, improving it as you see fit.

If you are interested then please contact the retiring editor Denis Nightingale on den.i.is@hotmail.co.uk by 10 May latest. If a new editor cannot be found then sadly the June/July edition will be the last.

Surely there is someone willing to take on what is a very rewarding voluntary role?
