For undergraduate, graduate, and professional school students:
Here’s what WFU should know this week.

Tuesday, April 30, 2024*
*Coming to you early this week so you can focus on final exams.

In early May, preparations will get underway for Commencement 2024!

Academics

  • Undergraduates: See the Final Exam schedule and visit Wake Study Space to find locations to study as finals approach.
  • Graduate and professional school students: Please see your school or program calendar for key academic dates and action items.

News

  • Commencement information: The Commencement office has shared important information for graduates, including the latest ticket information, graduation line-up instructions, when to wear your cap and gown (and how to order if you have not already done so), traffic and parking, the clear bag policy, and prohibited items. Please read the full message here.
  • Undergraduate Class of 2024! What better way to kick off Commencement weekend than with a fun-filled celebration designed just for you and your families? Join us at the Celebration of the Class of 2024, Saturday, May 18, from 8-11 p.m. on Manchester Plaza. There will be music, dancing, food, drinks, fun, and a surprise or two! You’ll have the opportunity to hang out with your classmates, share memories, take photos with friends and family, and so much more. Brief remarks and a toast to your class are scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. RSVP today (if you have not already done so)!
  • Announcement about Baity Street redevelopment: In August 2023, the University announced it was exploring the redevelopment of University-owned property adjacent to Allegacy Stadium, Couch Ballpark and the Joel Coliseum. Working with the City of Winston-Salem, Carter and Front Street Capital, this redevelopment effort aims to create a lively mixed-use development with plans for new retail, restaurant, experiential and/or residential spaces. As a part of the redevelopment effort, the Last Resort bar property will need to be demolished. While a timeline for the demolition is not set, it will likely occur later this year. Creating this new district is an exciting opportunity that will benefit the Wake Forest community, residents and visitors alike. Exact plans for the project are still being finalized, but particular attention will be paid to how it will enhance the student experience. Read more.
  • Move out, don’t throw out! Students are encouraged to plan ahead for move out and participate in the Deacs Donate program. Bring your unwanted residence hall items to be recycled or donated to the marked areas on campus to reduce your packing and waste!
  • Graduating and need your medical records for your next care provider? Deacon Health can help you! Follow the Medical Records Release process.
