celebrations at Emmanuel this past weekend
Thanks to Louise Tucker!

Looking forward to Market Day

Emmanuel will hold its annual Market Day on Saturday, July 27 this year. Margie Bangs and Lynn Baker have agreed to chair the event. We’ll have a general meeting in June to go over the arrangements and sign up volunteers.  Meanwhile, start checking for items you’d like to donate!

Also, we could use storage space - Emmanuel’s already getting requests from people moving off island to store Market Day donations until July. The spaces we used to use for this are no longer available.  If you have storage space where donors could put donations between now and July, please let Margie, Lynn, or Holly in the office know. Thanks so much!

Stewardship at Emmanuel

A message from your Treasurers:
There will be no checks written or deposits made between April 4 and April 30. The treasurers and the bookkeeper will be off-island during that time.
Thank you for your patience.

Prayer Requests

Prayers of the People
We pray to you with open hearts, together in community, and as you know each of us as your child.
Lord, open us to abide in your love, and to love one another as Jesus loves us.
Here I am Lord.

Dear Lord of all, Jesus said, the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it comes through the vine. May we each carry the love of God, brought to us through the vine of Jesus. God's love is our strength. Let us use it for good in serving our brothers and sisters. This is the purpose of your love.
Here I am Lord.

Dear Lord of all, We pray with gratitude for the love of God in this church community, for our Rector Fr. Berto, Fr. Hugh, the vestry, Marianne, the Dinner Kitchen chefs and volunteers, and Agape, reaching out for connection with love to those who may feel lost or afraid.
Here I am Lord.

Lord of all, we pray for the democracy of the United States, for the equality and safety of all people. In this time of division, we pray for healing of the deep pain and fear on all sides. There is no fear in love. We pray for your Love to prevail.
For whatever is born of God conquers the world.

Dear Lord, We pray for the world to stop the wars with itself. We ask for your strength to stop the killing, the hatred and fear. In the name of Jesus.
Bless the children, the medical healers and providers of emergency food and water to citizens of war.

Thank you Lord for your bounty and beauty which surrounds us, on precious Orcas Island and the magnificent Salish Sea. We are blessed to be here. Use our faith, to act boldly to preserve the environment and vanishing species, in the way we feel called.
We are each as one, with all living creatures on earth, sky and water. We live by your grace and love. Inspire our actions.

Lord of all, we ask your blessings for those we hold dear in our hearts. We pray for those who have passed into your eternal kingdom, and for those who are in sickness, loneliness and suffering of any kind, and for those we now name on our prayer list:  … John… Diane… Chip & Danelle… Lynn… Brianna… David… James… Martin… Lori… Victoria… Larry… Angie… Kelly… Chris & Laura… Hank & Karen… Sara… Margaret… Melanie… Jamie… Jon… Sherwood… Dick… Kellie, Phoebe & Henry… Evan… Fred… Roger… John… Heather… Judy… Frank… Dee… Hal… Carol…Douglas… Emillie… and for those for whom no one prays; may they be comforted by your Holy Spirit.
Lord, we pray for your loving comfort, healing and divine peace to all.

Lord of all, we thank you for those people you have brought into our lives who bring us closer to you, and those who have shown us by their example, the love of our Savior Jesus Christ. In His name we are grateful for your abundant blessings, grace and peace.
We are the branch of God's Love, through the vine of Jesus. With gratitude, let us share the love. Here we are LordAMEN.

Let us pray for those celebrating birthdays this week:

O God, our times are in your hand: Look with favor, we pray, on your servants Steve Young (5/2) and Noa Lui (5/3) as they begin another year. Grant that they may grow in wisdom and grace, and strengthen their trust in your goodness all the days of their lives; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Let us pray for those celebrating anniversaries this week:
Grant, O God, in your compassion, that Peter & Kira Neville (5/1) who have taken each other in marriage, may grow in forgiveness, loyalty, and love; and come at last to the eternal joys which you have promised through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayers for the election of our next Diocesan Bishop
Let us pray.
Almighty God, giver of every good gift: Look graciously on your Church, and so guide the minds of those who shall choose a bishop for this Diocese and our Presiding Bishop, that we may receive a faithful pastor, who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
