Welcome to our April Newsletter!

This month we take a look at Proctectomy surgery, spotlight some great coverage we've had in the media recently, and reveal another high profile addition to our Stoma Friendly toilets campaign.

If you're looking for a career change or to make a difference for people living with stomas we have several opportunities to
join our team in both a paid and voluntary capacity.

We also reveal our new 'I am' campaign which highlights how with the support of us, and the wider stoma community people can return to the business of living. If you would like to make a donation to help us to continue to provide our key services like our Stoma helpline, Tidings Magazine, and befriending service, you can do
here

Media Update!

Last week we featured alongside comedian Matt Forde on BBC News, to discuss the positive impact that public figures openly discussing their stomas can have on our community. You can watch the full feature on our You Tube channel.

Earlier this week one of our Stoma Friendly toilets campaigners Kirk Spence appeared on BBC Radio Ulster and BBC Radio Foyle to talk about the need for more Stoma Friendly toilets in Northern Ireland. You can listen to the interview here. Kirk features after 1 hour 5 minutes.

And if you would like to request one of our Stoma Aware campaign packs please just send us an
email with your full address.

Sheffield Wednesday might be one of the oldest football clubs in the world and one of the five oldest professional association football clubs in England, but they are also one of the newest to become Stoma Friendly.

Thanks to support from Colostomy UK and Level Playing Field all eleven accessible toilets at Hillsborough will provide a safe, clean space, with clear signage, as well as supporting those with additional needs. Read the full story here
