April Program Recap

Thank you to everyone who attended Tuesday's program "What Doesn't Kill Us Makes Us Burn Out". Becca Dilley an award-winning wedding photographer and Marriage and Family Therapist, gave us important insight into how we as professionals address stress and how to use our entrepreneurial skills to build a better way forward. The unpredictable and demanding nature of the event world can make it difficult to prioritize mental health but Becca reminded us that it is vital that we take care of ourselves so that we can be fully present in our personal and professional lives.

We want to take the time to thank Becca for her incredible insight, as well as our event sponsors Coppersmith Photography, Four Seasons Hotel, and Encore Global. These events would not be possible without the collaboration of you all!
Thank you to our event sponsors!

Member Spotlight: Hannah Vogel

Please meet ILEA-MSP member Hannah Vogel, Experience Manager at Surly Brewing Co. At Surly, you'll find Hannah scheming and planning a wide range of events from beer releases to Easter brunches, small acoustic concerts to Festival Field shows. She is the force behind planning Darkness Day and showcasing Surly's capabilities. Last year's Darkness Day was one for the books as it was only the second time they were able to host the event on property. "We produced 16 event-specific beers, hosted 8 bands, had live tattooing, live burlesque, and live goats. It's a massive 12-hour party and every detail is thought out. It was an honor to produce the event for a second year and to see close to 6,000 enjoying themselves," Hannah shares.

What keeps you excited about the work you do in the events industry?
"I've worked in the events industry in some fashion for nearly 10 years, and my answer is always the same. I wake up excited every morning because I get the privilege of making people smile. I get to build experiences that create memories and bring joy. Watching someone have the best day of their life, standing in the front row of a show that I helped produce, is the reason I am always excited for the future. We have a unique industry that lets us play and be creative and experiment for the sake of other's enjoyment; that's pretty rad."

Say hi to Hannah at the next ILEA program, and connect with her below!
