Weekly Bible Reflection
“Children, let us love not in word or speech but in deed and truth.” - 1 John 3:18
Regarding our Catholic faith, do you “walk the talk?” Do your actions reflect what it means to be a good disciple? Are you an active participant at Sunday Mass? Are you joyful when participating in parish ministry? Do you give gratefully and generously with your financial support to your parish and other Church needs? If not, it’s not too late to start! | SALUBONG AND PILGRIM VIRGIN STATUE OF FATIMA PROCESSIONS
The Legion of Mary would like to thank all who helped with the Easter Sunday SALUBONG procession (Statue of the “Risen Christ and the veiled Virgin Mary meet). It was wonderful having the school children involved in the procession (dressed as angels). On April 16th, the pilgrim Virgin statue of Fatima visited our parish. This was also a beautiful celebration with a procession of the statue; the crowing of Mary (with flowers offered by the school children and parishioners) and then praying the Rosary together. Volunteers are the heart of our parish community, and we are grateful to all those who worked so hard to make these events so special. On behalf of the Legion of Mary, thank you very much! | PROJECT ADVANCE 2024 - BUILDING OUR PARISH COMMUNITY
The annual appeal provides critical funding to key ministries and projects in our Archdiocese as well as to our parish. Last year our parish received $59,095.36. This year our assessment is $65,000 and we hope to raise an additional $65,000 to help with upgrades to St. Mary’s Cemetery; the acquisition and placement of two carved Indigenous House Posts (in the church foyer ) - representing Healing and Reconciliation; and the purchase of new fire doors for the gym. We hope that everyone will participate in this year’s appeal. For more information, contact Maggie Reimer (604-751-1950) or visit projectadvance.ca to give online.
