Greetings!
We are well into the second term of the year, and if you're anything like me, it feels like the weeks are whizzing past! Already, the season of Eastertide is drawing to a close, as we prepare to celebrate Pentecost this Sunday.
Like many across New Zealand, I stood in awe as I watched the Aurora Australis over the weekend. Standing on a hilltop in the freezing cold, I was reminded of Psalm 19:1 "The heavens declare the glory of God, the skies proclaim the work of His hands". I wonder, what inspired the Psalmist to pen these words? Was it a beautiful sunset, or a particularly pretty cloud formation? Was it a stormy sky, or a star-filled night?
Looking through the eyes of a child, what might proclaim the glory of God for them? Perhaps its giggling with joy while blowing bubbles, shrieking in delight while playing on a swing, or the excitement of seeing animals at the zoo. What I do know is that, as an adult, when I see children in my own life experiencing these things, I see the glory of God through them.
Grace and Peace,
Karo
Director, PCFM
