Unless you don't mind forfeiting $3,662 for not being present at the raffle, we recommend you be at the Lodge to win the entire jackpot.

With the absence of a cook in place, our ace bartender Yolanda has volunteered to pick up the slack in May. You can expect Yo's best effort each time she's in the kitchen. The food will be great.
If you're not familiar with the "races" we hold before Derby, you're missing a lot of fun starting at 4:30 pm.
Post time for the Kentucky Derby itself can vary from year to year, but it typically takes place in the early evening, around 6:45 pm.

Memorialize and Honor Your World War II Family Member
A tribute to those who served during WWII is being constructed on the Veterans Memorial Island Sanctuary. Symbols of your family member's WWII service may be included in a sealed brass shell casing within the memorial's concrete structure.
You may also include your family member's name on the list of WWII veterans memorialized on the capsule.
We are currently in the process of looking for a cook for our Lodge. In the meantime, we need volunteers to cook for events until this can be accomplished. Please reply to this email if you know of a cook looking for work or you can volunteer to cook until we can hire one
Special Membership Call Meeting May 3rd at 4pm
There will be a special general Membership Call Meeting on May 3rd at 4:00 PM for the purpose of voting on the new floor for the ballroom
The meeting will be brief. We need to have a quorum present.
We have been working towards this for a long time. The installer can do the work in June as long as we have your vote. Most of the funds are in place. Please take the time to attend New Members Initiated on April 16th Congratulations!

Americanism Essay Contest Winners
Vero Beach Lodge participated in the Elks National Americanism Essay Contest. The theme this year was: “What the Bill of Rights Means to Me.” The contest starts with the local Lodges, progresses through District and State levels, and ends with the naming of our National Winners July 2024. This contest gives students in four separate grade levels, grades 5-8, the opportunity to thoughtfully, evaluate and express their views on this year's theme.
The Board of Directors has posted a proposed Budget for the coming Elks year on the Secretary’s Bulletin Board in the Lounge. This will be voted on at the May members’ meeting. Please look over at your convenience

Special Announcement
2024 marks the 75th Anniversary of the Vero Beach Elks Lodge. To honor our Lodge, a series of Gala Events will be held during 2024. A Challenge Coin pictured above, has been created to mark this occasion and they are now on sale for $10 at the Bar and at most events.
Flooring Fund
We replaced the carpet in the Lounge and will be replacing the Banquet Room carpet with a similar product. We are accepting donations to add to the funds we have raised to support this project. Please send your donation to the Lodge Secretary and put Flooring Fund in the memo line of the check. Alternatively, you may pay at the Bar via the Lodge Donation key on our POS system.
Rent Our Banquet Hall
The Lodge needs to generate revenue from our Banquet Hall to stay within our budget. We offer a substantial discount to our Lodge members. We have competitive rates for non-members for functions such as weddings, meetings, birthday parties etc.
