| | | Dear Readers,
While we still have moments of relative tranquillity before the end-of-year hustle and bustle, we want to remind you to save time to reflect on the progress your students have made, but more importantly, how much you have helped them along the way.
We all know that educators are notorious for putting other people’s needs before their own. And even if we know how essential it is to prioritise self-care, especially during these busy times, we hardly take advantage of opportunities to practise mindfulness and engage in activities that refresh and restore our spirit.
The end of the school year will bring unexpected challenges, so flexibility and adaptivity will help overcome the challenges that come our way. So, instead of focusing solely on the finish line, let’s not forget to appreciate the positive impact we have on our students' lives everyday.
We're all in this together, and now more than ever, it is essential to lean on the support of our fellow educators. Whether it's sharing resources, offering words of encouragement, or simply lending a listening ear, let's continue to uplift and empower one another.
Warmest regards,
Julie, Micheline for the AGE Network Team | | | | BREAKING NEWS | | Reminder: SI Fitness Games

We have numerous tasks on our plates daily. Be it personal or professional, all of them need to be addressed. Since multi-tasking is a myth, we assign priority to the urgency and importance of the tasks. But is that always so easy? No, it isn’t.
The Eisenhower Matrix (also known as The Urgent-Important Matrix, The Prioritization Matrix, The Time Management Matrix, The Eisenhower Box, and The Eisenhower Method) helps you prioritise tasks and sort your to-do list by adequately addressing the required tasks eliminating the non-required clutter. | | | LinkedIn | The Benefits of Listening to Music While Working From Homeby Radia Dakhchoune Boumjimar - April 24, 2023
In recent years, working from home has become a norm for many professionals. While it has its perks, it can also be challenging to stay productive and focused when working in an environment that is not designed for work. One way to boost productivity and make working from home more enjoyable is by listening to music. | | | | | | Navigating the Digital Storm : The Implications of Falling Behind in Technology
In the calm moments before a storm, there lies an unsettling reality for those who resisted the inevitable tide of progress.Clearly, we are talking about a digital storm. In a world dominated by smart home, online banking and digital commerce, failure to embrace technology in our practice can lead to a tempest of challenges. Although this might be triggering for some, it is important to understand the potential storm that awaits those that fall behind in the realm of digital skills. This month we explore the drawbacks of not staying abreast of technological advancements.

We often talk about student’s cognitive overload, but what about teacher overload? This phenomenon also exists for teachers. Are you able to recognize the signs of this overload? We might not realise it as educators, but our brains are constantly holding, selecting, combining, and reorganising information.
Last January, a blog called Learning and the Brain, posted this article. The author Andrew Watson is a former high-school teacher who wanted to explore applications of psychology and neurosciences in his classroom. Consulting research in this field is a great way to optimise our teaching methods. But first, the SEC team suggests reading his article and reflecting on your possible working memory overload before the storm comes!
Student for a Day? Yes Chef!By Lucie Tremblay
As a new orthopédagogue for anglophone adult learners in Quebec, it became important to me to connect with VT teachers to demonstrate how I can bring support and counselling to better address students' needs in the learning of a trade. At some point, someone suggested something great and said: Lucie, you could go to the centres as a student for a day! I was thrilled by the idea. That's how I got to experience my first Student for a Day experience at PACC in the Cooking program. You can read more about my experience in this text. A special thanks to Nancy Gagnon and her wonderful team.
Now, I am thinking, what about going to a class in AGE? If you wish to welcome me to your centre, I would be pleased to receive your invitation by email. | - REFERENCE & RESOURCES AVAILABLE - | Ministère de l’ÉducationServices and Programs of Study (2023-2024) Administrative Guide: Certification of Studies and Management of Ministerial Examinations (2015 Edition)
