Support 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC)

ACT Now and other advocates will be in Springfield today, May 7th, conducting a press conference to highlight the need for $50 million for community learning centers and afterschool! State Senator Ram Villivalam proposed SB2943 in January 2024. This legislation calls for $50 million in annual funds to ensure that programs that are losing their funding can apply for a new grant and help stabilize the afterschool field. You can help advocate for 21st CCLC programs by taking the following actions!

  • Send our action alert!
  • Contact your state legislator and ask them to support SB2943! We developed a template with sample language that can be found here! To find out who represents you, click here!

For more information and advocacy items, visit the 'Take Action and Support 21st CCLC' page on our website!
