The LVWIL held Lobby Day last week in Springfield. Leaguers from across the state came to Springfield last Wednesday to lobby in favor of various pending pieces of legislation including Karina's Bill, the Wetlands bill, and a bill to protect senior citizens and their families.Thank you to Roberta Borrino, Barbara Hochstadt, Diana Hoke, and Donna Limper for attending from LWVRB. We had a good discussion with our State Rep. Jennifer Sanalitro. The LWVIL typically holds two lobby days a year. Your vote and your voice matters and we would love to have an even larger contingent from LWVRB next time.
IT's NOT TOO LATE TO REGISTER TO ATTEND the LWVRB's ANNUAL MEETING
Please join us for our annual meeting on Saturday, May 18 from 9:00 am - 11:30 am at the Roselle Fire Department located at 100 E. Maple Avenue.
Join us for a potluck breakfast while we celebrate our past year of making democracy work! We're keeping the business meeting to a minimum, and we need your input on the few items we need to vote on. All members are encouraged to attend so we have a quorum. Use this form to choose what you will bring and to register your attendance. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080D48A4A72CA6F58-49033862-2024
We look forward to celebrating our successes from the past year, and sharing our plans for the future. A quorum is needed to conduct League business so please set this morning aside for us. Our annual meeting booklet will be emailed to you via The Voter Enews for your review before the meeting. Since it also serves as the agenda for the day, if possible, bring a device to view it during the meeting. A limited number of printed copies of the agenda will be available on-site.
