Updates from The Carpentries

Workshops and Instruction Team

Upcoming Trainer Training

We will be opening applications for Trainer Training on Wednesday 29 May 2024. Applications are open to the general Carpentries community, but space is limited and Member Organisations can reserve a seat for an additional fee.

Annually, we reserve seats for Member Organisations to designate a person they will support to go through Trainer Trainer. This means they will be allowed to use work hours to support Carpentries events. Additionally, this qualifies the Member Organisation to be eligible for discounted membership rates.

Our Trainer Training program provides next-level pedagogical training for individuals seeking to play a leadership role in advancing computational and data skills training at their institutions. Within The Carpentries, Trainers are pivotal to the growth and health of our Instructor community. Trainers shape the next generation of Carpentries Instructors by leading Instructor Training, guiding the Instructor certification process, and shaping updates to our Instructor Training curriculum. Within their home campus, Carpentries Trainers bring their newly-developed expertise to bear on other training and professional development they lead, and support the growth of their local Instructor community.
