The SEMDEX dropped 0.1% to close at 1964.42 points, as losses in ALTEO, MEDINE and hotel stocks outweigh gains in several heavyweights.
MCBG dominated trading activity, rising 0.1% to MUR 389.00 on MUR 37.7m value traded, accounting for 86% of total market turnover. Peer SBMH advanced 1.1% to MUR 4.60 while conglomerates CIEL and IBL ticked upwards 0.3% to MUR 7.22 and 0.1% to MUR 43.05, respectively.
ALTEO led the losers, falling 4.3% to MUR 11.00 whereas MEDINE declined 1.8% to MUR 56.00. Hoteliers were mostly negative with NMH tanking 2.7% to MUR 11.00 and SUN giving up 1.1% to MUR 46.50.
Foreign investors focused their buying solely on MCBG, with a total purchase value of MUR 27.0 m.
