On the 2024 International Day of Families and ahead of the European elections this June, we were very happy to come together with COFACE friends during a Meet & Connect event in the presence of the Belgian Presidency of the EU. 

It was a great occasion to present our assessment of the European Union’s work from 2019 to 2024 as well as our key demands to the EU for the 2024-2029 mandate. Quirkiness being an integral part of COFACE, we also introduced our brand new COFACE song which aims to spread our message in a unique way. Have a listen here!

COFACE Families Europe together with its members is very active in addressing the social challenges faced by families of today and advocating for policies to support their well-being. In 2019, COFACE mobilised EU voters through its member organisations. In the following years, we have closely examined the EU's work and how it contributes to achieving eight specific positive outcomes for today's families. [...]

COFACE member, the Association of German Family Organisations (AGF), was founded on the 25th of March 1954. 70 years later, on the 25th March 2024, AGF members looked back on its history and discussed the current challenges in family policy. COFACE Families Europe congratulates AGF on its 70th anniversary and looks forward to many more years working closely together for the benefit of families in Germany and beyond. [...]

Belgian COFACE member, Ligue des familles, recently published its family barometer report which provides a wealth of information on the state and evolution of families in Belgium. The barometer is published every two years, giving families a crucial chance to have their voices heard. The 2024 edition reveals the scale of some of the difficulties faced by families, as well as some problems identified as early as 2015 that remain persistent. [...]

Several UN entities, civil society organisations, governments, and future generations joined forces at the 68th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) to emphasise the importance of gender equality and the rights of women and girls everywhere.
