MAY 23, 2024
Detective Doyle, Detective Malcuit, Detective Saeger, and Officer Jackson of the Los Angeles Police Department are this month's WEAAD Warriors.  They work tirelessly to investigate and prevent crimes against older adults, particularly financial exploitation and fraud. Their efforts in the West LA Elder Abuse Division include conducting thorough investigations, collaborating with multidisciplinary professionals, and raising public awareness about the signs of elder abuse. By combining their expertise and compassion, they strive to ensure a safe and dignified environment for older adults, reinforcing the LAPD's commitment to serving and safeguarding all members of the community.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month

The Police - Mental Health Collaboration Toolkit provides resources for law enforcement agencies to partner with service providers, advocates, and individuals with mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). The goal of these partnerships is to ensure the safety of all, to respond effectively, and to improve access to services and supports for people with mental illness and I/DD.
