Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc Community Services Invites you to the Inauguration Celebration of C7í7elcmenten re Stsíllen (a Place to Share Food)! This event signifies a momentous achievement in our ongoing efforts to address food insecurity within our community. We are excited to celebrate this momentous occasion with our community and we sincerely hope to see you there.

Water Restrictions

Effective May 1st: Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc water use restrictions are now year-round and no longer seasonal. For the default water restriction during normal conditions and during early drought levels, watering is permitted on alternating days based on your address.

  • No irrigation (sprinkling) permitted on any day between 11:00 am and 7:00 pm.
  • Even numbered addresses may irrigate only on even numbered days, before 11am and after 7pm
  • Odd numbered addresses may irrigate only on odd numbered days, before 11am and after 7pm
  • The required time for automated irrigation is 12am to 7am on the appropriate day (see above)

TteS Karate Superstar

The Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity & Recreation Council (I·SPARC) recently recognized 13-year-old Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc band member Hunter Miers as the 2024 recipient of the Northwest region Premier's Award for Indigenous Youth Excellence in Sport! Hunter, an exceptional member of Karate Team Canada, has achieved remarkable success in various world-class competitions. Last fall, he secured two medals at the World Championships of Karate, showcasing his outstanding talent and dedication.

Stories of Resilience

You're invited to the premiere of "Stories of Resilience" on June 11, 2024. It's part of the SNTC ISET Community Forum following the Labour Market Workshop on the same day. Chief Louis History

By now, you're aware that Chief Louis Crossing is a development property owned by Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc, with Sweláps Market as its anchor store. Positioned at a prime location, this space holds historical significance, marking the intersection of Yellowhead Highway and Shuswap Road, where the Chief Louis Center East and West converge. Tk̓emlúps is seeking submissions from local artists who are interested in painting Kúkpi7 Rosanne’s Teepee in preparation for the 43rd Annual Kamloopa Powwow! Indigenous Youth Career Camp

Join JIBB for a FREE day camp for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit youth aged 18-24. Explore careers in justice, public safety, and health care through hands-on learning and cultural experiences. Connect with peers, Elders, and community partners in a supportive environment. Camp dates are July 22, 2024 to July 26, 2024. NAHC Coming in 2025!

The City of Kamloops and Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc are pleased to announce that our community has been selected to host the 2025 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships May 5–10. The event will take place over six days in May 2025. The successful bid was supported by the Kamloops Sports Council, Tourism Kamloops, Thompson Valley Charters, BC Hockey, the Kamloops Minor Hockey Association, and the Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity & Recreation Council as well as the host communities of Kamloops and Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc.
