Legacy League Reaches Agreement
with 4B Umpires for Officiating
4B Umpires has reached an agreement with the Legacy League and will be leading the charge in overseeing the officiating for the collegiate summer developmental baseball league for years 2025 – 2030 under an agreement between the parties reached this week. The Legacy League will embark on its inaugural season in 2025 and will include 10 Teams, all playing at Jackson, Mississippi’s Smith Wills Stadium, the former home of the NY Mets and Houston Astros Minor League Teams. The league will play a 40-game schedule, concluding in early August.

Robert Holloway, the CEO of 4B Umpire Development, has a strong and impeccable reputation in educational administration, general oversight in sports, and a handsome career in umpiring.

4B provides educational instruction for developing umpires from recreational leagues to Division I baseball, with some of his students and colleagues working in Minor League and Major League Baseball. Holloway is currently the coordinator of baseball officials for the Southwestern Athletic Conference, the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference, and the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference.

Mr. Holloway retired as Supervisor of officials for the Mississippi High School Activities Association, where he was responsible for the oversight of nearly 450 High Schools. He was a former Assistant Superintendent, Principal, Teacher, and Coach and served as a Division I umpire for 21 years in the SEC, ACC, C-USA, SunBelt, SWAC, and Southland Conferences.

He has called 5 NCAA Division I Regionals and is the Coordinator of the Umpires for the MLB Swingman Classic, Garr Lucas Classic, Andre Dawson Classic, and the States Games.

The Legacy League is comprised of 10 teams, with Legendary names of several Hall of Famers and All-Stars such as Dusty Baker, Tracy McGrady, Andruw Jones, Brian Jordan, Jeff Francoeur, Brian McCann, Ozzie Smith, and Deuce McAllister, among others who will own the teams that will all play at Smith Wills Stadium in Jackson, MS. The Legacy League will play its the first game in May of 2025 with College players from state schools such as Mississippi State University, Jackson State University, University of Mississippi, Alcorn State University, University of Southern Mississippi, Mississippi Valley State University, Belhaven University, Hinds Community College, and other colleges throughout the country and Internationally.

Mr. Holloway and his team of officials will work shoulder to shoulder under the guidance of Clint Johnson, who was drafted from Jackson State University, where he was coached by NCAA Hall of Fame Coach Robert “Bob” Braddy and played several years professionally in the Boston Red Sox organization before returning home where he served as a High School Principal and Jackson Public Schools Athletic Director before taking his current position as the Player Development Director for the Legacy League.

The Legacy League is a 10 team Collegiate summer developmental league designed to give its players the opportunity to improve their skill set while playing with a wood bat as opposed to the aluminum bats used in High School and Colleges.  Each team in the Legacy League is owned by a former professional athlete.
Carrying the legacy of the most prolific baseball player in our generation to all deserving youth.
