Artist Call Out

Tk̓emlúps is seeking submissions from local artists who are interested in painting Kúkpi7 Rosanne’s Teepee in preparation for the 43rd Annual Kamloopa Powwow! Apply today to be considered to bring Kukpi7 Rosanne’s vision to life. Submit applications to olivia.holmes@ttes.ca no later than June 5 at 6pm.

Indigenous Peoples Day

Join us on June 21st from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm as we celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day in Tk̓emlúps! Enjoy a vibrant gathering with food trucks, artisan vendors, drummers, dancers, and live performances. The Kidzone will keep the little ones entertained with a magician, face painter, bounce castles, and more. As the sun sets, prepare to be mesmerized by an awe-inspiring aerial light show. The festivities kick off at 4pm at the Tk̓emlúps Powwow Arbour, 345 Powwow Trail. Don't miss out on this spectacular celebration of Indigenous culture and community!

Le7 te Melámen Health Society

Secwepemc Health Caucus successfully has transitioned to become Le7 te Melámen Health Society (LtMHS). The Secwepemc Health Caucus (SHC) officially transitioned from under a Host Agency to an independent self-governing Society effective April 1, 2024. A Le7 te Melámen Health Society Transition Ceremony was held on March 1, 2024 and witnessed by Secwepemc community Elders and Youth.

Reflections on the Third Anniversary of Le Estcwicwéy̓ (the Missing) — Monday May 27, 2024, marked the third anniversary of the day that preliminary finding went public. On this day, we chose to reach out directly to Tḱemlúps te Secwépemc membership, community members and allies. If you missed the communication, please find the link below to the letter from Kúkpi7 Rosanne on behalf of Chief and Council. Thank you to our dedicated Le Estcwicwéy̓ Department, staff dedicated to completing the investigation as well as building a Healing House for Survivors and intergenerational Survivors.
