Welcome to Our Fourth Newsletter

This is the fourth monthly newsletter of Bioregional Earth — where we share powerful stories of humanity seeking harmony through a tapestry of living landscapes around the world. As stewards of this powerful narrative, we feel the seriousness of the ethics for living bioregionally in our own places.

Today, let us explore bioregional funding ecosystems and stories emerging from the Greater Tkaronto Bioregion and the Forests of the Northeast.

Watch this video series to learn how bioregional funding ecosystems are being created in different parts of the world.

Funding Ecosystems for Bioregional Regeneration

A 3-Part Series from Theory to Practice on the Ground
As part of the 7-Generation Bioregional Earth Summit and the learning journey on Birthing Bioregional Learning Centers in the Design School for Regenerating Earth, we have been exploring bioregional investment platforms and funding ecosystems along with case studies where this work is happening around the world.

Some of that rich material has now been curated into three distinct videos that we would like to share with you today.

Part 1 offers a systemic view, featuring a presentation by Samantha Power followed by some perspectives from Joe Brewer that link theory with work on the ground.

Part 2 looks at pieces of the puzzle in the GTB (Greater Tkaronto Bioregion) as they lay the groundwork for a funding ecosystem that supports both social and ecological regeneration. Learn more at 7GenerationGTB.org.

Part 3 is an inspiring real-world case study of the bioregional regeneration work taking place in Barichara, Colombia, as they build a funding ecosystem. Learn more at RegenerateBarichara.org

Bioregional Market in Greater Tkaronto Bioregion

Generations Working Together
With a theme of "Celebrate Your Mother and Mother Earth," the first GTB Bioregional Market was held on Saturday, May 11th as part of the #GTB School Community Network. Over 400 people came through the market! This was truly the result of a collective coming together in the hearts, minds, and hands of many student EcoLeaders, teachers, parents, and older adults in the community,

Many people commented that this was unlike any other market they'd attended, and they loved how much they learned from all the tables. The public was genuinely interested in finding out more about this thing called a "bioregion."

Forests of the Northeast Bioregion

The Story and the Launch
After a bioregional activation process that took place earlier this year, the people of the Forests of the Northeast have begun living into their bioregional story at the scale of New York, Connecticut, Massachussets, and Maine.

Last week, through a collaboration among leaders of Wellspring Commons, Center for an Ecology-based Economy, and Sirius Community, the Forests of the Northeast group officially launched with an inspiring first gathering.
