Celebrations of Learning Last Week
|
|
This time of year brings many opportunities for families to join us on campus for our Celebrations of Learning!
Tumtum started the week's series with their Celebration on Tuesday, June 4th. Families got to see the students perform on the Imagination Playground stage, and then joined the class in their classroom for a tour Around the World, with tulip paintings, Korean architecture, Maine lighthouses, and the ever-popular sampling of Hagelslag, the Dutch sprinkle toast.
Mazama followed with their CoL on Wednesday. Families were greeted at the upper part of the Imagination Playground, and then led to the classroom by their students. The Mazama thematic had been all about How Things Are Made, and the students showed off works related to LEGO, jewelry, and stuffies! Families left laden with student projects and fun memories.
Our K-6 students had their CoL on Thursday, May 6th. Each class had a brief performance on stage, including Spanish songs and some dramatic readings. Wy'East paused under the gazebos to give a recorder concert, and all the students returned to their classrooms to show families their various learnings and projects for year's final thematic.
Thank you to our team of teachers who create these opportunities for deep learning and authentic assessments. Our Celebrations of Learning are truly an amazing opportunity for students to shine and show off the many ways in which they are learning, growing, and shining.

Loowit found just enough time to take one final field trip on Tuesday, June 4th, to the Oregon Zoo! Students spent the day learning about various animals, exploring the zoo surroundings, and having a great time exercising their Curiosity about the animals at the zoo.

The Columbian's Best of Clark County awards are a wonderful way for our school to get noticed in the Clark County area. Last year, we were the runner-up for Best Childcare and a finalist for Best School and Best Preschool.
Thanks to your nominations, once again we have made it to the voting round, this year in four categories! Let's make this the year we take the top spot!
Gardner School is a unique and needed school in Clark County, and we hope you will support us by voting for us as a Best of Clark County in the following categories:
Best Preschool
Best School
Best Childcare
Best Summer Camp
(The first three are listed under "Services", and the last one is under "Entertainment".)
We hope you will take a moment to vote for us in all categories, and share with your friends and family to vote, too. We'll share posts on social media, also, for easy sharing. Voting closes June 30th!
Thank you for your continued support of our mission to cultivate authentic learning through integrated experiences in a supportive community.

Early Childhood Field Day
|
|
|
It was a perfect sunny day for the Tumtum and Mazama students to play for Field Day! Each fall and spring, Gardner sets aside a day for students to enjoy extra outdoor play and just focus on being active and having fun. This tradition is full of games, messy play, popsicles, and lots of laughs! Our EC students challenge themselves tossing balls into buckets, learn how to blow (and chase) the biggest bubbles, get soaked with sprinklers, and spend more time on the "big kid" side of school, which is always special!
