NO PRIDE WITHOUT OUR RELATIVES

Combatting the MMIWG2S Crisis is one of the priorities of IJC. In the upcoming months, our thought leadership in this area will be part of several projects bringing together our commitment to Native self-determination, health equity, and gender justice.

From June 29 to July 1 we will be at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington DC facilitating discussions around the MMIWG2S crisis and what people can do to help. We hope to see you there!

Gender-based violence and anti-2SLGBTQ+ hate inherently violate Indigenous values, recognizing the vulnerability of 2SLGBTQ+ people is imperative for combating the MMIWG2S crisis. Approximately 85% of Two-Spirit people experience violence in their lifetime.
