Hello,Portalsfriends. Patrick is writing today for the Portals team. I have the fantastic role of creating the copy that introduces each of the conversations on the episode pages. I sometimes think of it as having a front row seat to take in and experience the amazing variety of conversations and explorations we publish.
A special benefit to working a little more close-in with such a wide range of content is the chance to discover the connections — the common threads and patterns — that emerge across Portals even in such diverse conversations. I often wonder if these natural patterns and webs of connection point to something bigger at play…perhaps an unseen operating system that is influencing multiple aspects of our life experience.
With such ponders I was especially happy to see the new conversation between Aviv and Jose Leal, a founding member of Society 2045. Jose and his cohort of dedicated visionaries are imagining a future that supports and liberates the best of humanity.
In one project, they spent several years talking to leaders in a variety of fields and identifying the emerging patterns and cycles that could truly transform society…in business, the workplace, and communities. Jose demonstrates with Aviv how the transformational patterns offer a lucidly penetrating lens to observe, decode, and think through challenges and opportunities in any field.
Here are several of the patterns and how they could evolve to be in harmony with the natural flow of life:
From rigid systems to the organic rhythms of Life — making organizational governance more organic and life-like, focusing on small groups and peer relationships.
From linear progression of the story to the intricate web of nature, groups can operate like self-organizing systems, similar to natural ecosystems.
From impersonal transactions to deep relationships: investment strategies that focus on emotional and spiritual fulfillment, fostering deeper personal and business relationships.
From proprietary ‘exclusive’ to the commons ‘inclusive’; moving from traditional corporate ownership to commons-based, sharing resources for communal well-being.
From the separation of self to the realization of Interdependence; a collective change in consciousness to see ourselves as part of a whole.
From centralized structures to the freedom of distributed ecosystems, such as a voluntary, opt-in legal system to enable community-driven legal frameworks.
From the projection of career to the dance of purpose. Imagine lawyers transitioning from traditional legal practice to heal and transform society.
This is just a start; there are more possibilities. Why is the effort to identify transformative patterns so important? We live in a time of multiple global crises, mostly the result of a way of life governed by the imperatives of commerce and financial systems of the modern era.
It’s also a time when the impulse of an evolutionary upgrade is pressing its way into humanity, activating new potential we describe in Portals as Homo Universalis, the universal human. Identifying underlying patterns or unified source code can open greater possibilities of living and working in harmony with, not contrary to, the rhythms of nature and life in this time of profound change.
If you would like to hear more from Leal and his fellow visionaries, they first looked into their evolutionary crystal ball in the Portals conversation Imagine 2045.
On behalf of the Portals team,
Patrick Summers
8 Patterns of Transformation with Jose Leal
What if the underlying natural intelligence and energy that help influence and shape nearly every aspect of our lives were actually identifiable patterns hiding in plain sight — visible in every domain of life to anyone with the eyes (perception) to see?
Underlying patterns that together point to a unified universal operating system or source code that is guiding our growth and evolution.
We explore the guiding influence of usually unseen patterns and cycles in this conversation between Aviv Shahar and Jose Leal in 8 Patterns of Transformation with Jose Leal
