The launch of the Clean Heat Accelerator
It was great to see Scottish Enterprise's Clean Heat Accelerator, a training course designed to support ambitious businesses involved in the clean heat sector, successfully launch last week at Centrica. Those taking part in the accelerator heard talks from Centrica, River Clyde Homes and Cala Group Limited, touring Centrica's net zero training facilities and the BE-ST Innovation Factory, which are just next door to each other.

A policy library for decarbonising home heating | Resource

First homes soon to be connected to £30m heating network
A major renewable energy initiative is set to transform the heating for thousands of homes in Edinburgh. Midlothian Council, in partnership with Swedish company Vattenfall Heat UK, aims to connect the first homes at their new Shawfair development to a £30 million heat network by October. Read here.

ScottishPower reached 3,000 heat pump installs
3000 installs have been carried out in houses across Scotland, England and Wales by Scottish Power over the last 18 months. Most customers received heat pumps and other measures for free under the Government’s ECO4 scheme. Read more here.

GTC has struck a deal with ground source heat pump maker Kensa Group
The UK’s largest installer of last mile multi-utility networks GTC has struck a deal with ground source heat pump maker Kensa Group as the market prepares to deliver an alternative to gas. Gas boilers will be banned in new build developments from next year under the Future Homes Standard, requiring all new homes to have low-carbon heating. Read more here.

The HeatSource Champions visited The Energy Training Academy and The Net Zero Home in Dalkeith today. The Net Zero Home is a one-of-a-kind initiative, uniquely combining hands-on training for renewable engineers, educational outreach for children, and a living demonstration of sustainable technologies. The Net Zero home serves as a model for achieving a net-zero EPC rating with its array of eco-friendly technologies.
