Emergency Update from the 5th District - July 1, 2024
RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT
A Red Flag Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for portions of Sonoma County, starting Monday, July 1 at 11 p.m. through Wednesday July 3, at 5 p.m. A combination of gusty offshore winds and low relative humidity is expected for the higher elevations.
Also, a heat advisory has been issued by the Sonoma County Health Officer for much of the county from Tuesday morning, July 2 through Friday evening, July 5.
REMEMBER:
No fires
Don't pull off onto grass
No mowing or weedeating - sparks start fires
ALSO, THAT IT IS TIME TO:
Keep full fuel tanks
Keep full cell phones charge
Park nose facing street
Go bags packed
Please check in on any isolated or at risk folks in your neighborhood. Do they have a plan to get out if necessary? Can they keep cool? Do they have water?
