‘Trailblazer Series’ inspires summer of discovery at Fort Mandan State Historic Site
WASHBURN, N.D. – The Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center and Fort Mandan State Historic Site are excited to announce the July offerings for the “Trailblazer Series” held Wednesdays, 10-11 a.m. at the Fort Mandan Visitor Center in Washburn. These fun programs and presentations offer hands-on learning for all ages.
July 3 Paper Making, 10-11 a.m. Rip, blend, and mold. Learn the basics of paper making. Take home your unique paper creations.
July 10 Geology of the Expedition, 10-11 a.m. Discover the different geographical features the men of the Lewis and Clark Expedition encountered in North Dakota.
July 17 Content Creation, 10-11 a.m. Learn how to boost your social media sites by finding new ways to enhance your content.
July 24 Expedition Trail: Will You Survive? 10-11 a.m. Let’s play a game of survival. As you embark on your journey of westward expansion, learn about the diseases of the early 1800s.
July 31 Sunprints, 10-11 a.m. Create beautiful pieces of art using items found in your natural surroundings and the sun.
The programs are included with your daily admission fee or free with a State Historical Society Foundation membership. This series meets every Wednesday through Sept. 25. Program schedules will be released monthly.
Fort Mandan State Historic Site and the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center are managed by the State Historical Society of North Dakota.
