Highlights from the Community Calendar
Community Sessions are a great way to interact with, learn from and share your knowledge and experiences with other Carpentries community members from around the world. Subscribe to our community calendar for updates on Community Sessions that may pique your interest and are in your time zone. Sign up to attend on the Community Sessions Etherpad. To request an accommodation to attend a community session, please fill out the accommodation request form. 3 July Creating a workshop website co-working session at 08:00 UTC (find your time; add to your calendar) Please join us in practice of creating the workshop website! This session is a space for anyone interested in practising creating a workshop website independently and who would like to have support and feedback in real-time. All are welcome! This is also a great opportunity for experienced Instructors to join and assist with answering questions, giving helpful hints, and guidance. Please note, this session will not include a demonstration on how to create the workshop webpage. For that, please see the sessions on 5 and 19 July below.

Community Opportunity PostingsThe Research and Analytics Department (RAD) in the Office of the New York State Attorney General (OAG) is seeking candidates for a full-time Data Analyst position to explore, analyze, and create new datasets for information pertinent to OAG investigations. Applications close on 12 July 2024. Virginia Tech seeks an experienced, mission-driven, strategic leader to be the next Associate Vice President for Research Computing who will partner with researchers to increase Virginia Tech’s competitive advantage for grants and discover new opportunities for research computing in high-impact areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and visualization. Review began on 24 June, but the post is open until filled. The Cushing/Whitney Medical Library at the Yale School of Medicine is seeking a Biomedical Informatics Librarian to provide support services to clinicians and researchers who use clinical and other healthcare data for informatics research. Presumably open until filled. The University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) Library, seeks an innovative, strategic, forward-thinking professional to serve as the Open Science, Research & Engagement Librarian in STEM. Reporting to the Director, Research & Engagement, the position will be a member of the Research & Engagement department and part of the Subject Librarian Program, providing research and instructional support to all academic departments on campus. The next review date of applications is 11 July 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time). Apply by this date to ensure full consideration by the committee.
