There are several meetings that have just been announced for next week that you might be interested in attending.
 

Coffee with City Councilman Jim McBride

On Monday, June 24, from 7:30 am to 9:00 am, City Councilman McBride will hold a group meeting.  The main focus will be hurricane preparation for Johns Island, "but willing to talk about anything."  
 
The meeting will be held at Gold Star Coffee, 3293 Maybank Hwy.
 

 
Mark Clark (526) Extension Project

An SCDOT meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 26, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm "for historic African American communities on Johns Island, James Island and West Ashley, to provide stakeholders with information about the Mark Clark Extension Project (extension of 526), develop a better understanding of potential impacts of the proposed project on historic communities, and to determine possible mitigation strategies that would best address community concerns and priorities."

The meeting will be held at Berkley Electric Cooperative, 1135 Main Road.

 


 
Coffee with the Mayor

On Thursday, June 27 from 7:30 am to 8:30 am, Mayor Cogswell will hold one-on-one conversations with Johns Island residents. 

"The goal is to give residents the opportunity to directly discuss their concerns, ideas, and suggestions with Mayor Cogswell.  Upon arrival, residents will sign up and be called one at a time to speak with the Mayor about their chosen topics." 

The meeting will be held at Gold Star Coffee, 3293 Maybank Hwy.
