Nanaimo's Regatta: Thank You for a great NRC Sprints Regatta!
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the Nanaimo Sprints regatta a success! Despite the chilly weather, we had fantastic races and it was wonderful to be out at the lake. Your support and enthusiasm made the event truly special.
A shout out to: Coach Emilia and Coach Craig and all the officials and volunteers for a great day of racing
Welcome New NRC Board of Directors
Earlier in July, we held the first board meeting with our new Executive team, and came up with some exciting plans for our club.
We are making progress on defining our roles for the year ahead and discussing ongoing projects at the boathouse including the purchase of a new coach boat. Our coaching team is investing significant time and effort in maintaining our boats and equipment. They have been working diligently, and we aim to continue this effort after our summer coaches return to school and their regular routines.

The Essentials - for all NRC members:
Spond app – Our tool for messaging and sign-ups for for practices, regatta and other events are done here. Helps us schedule staffing and set practice plans.
Download the app & click this link to find us: https://group.spond.com/WRHAX Note: We must have at least two athletes signed up for a practice to go ahead (Safe Sport - Rule of 2). Use this tool to update attendance to practice – even last-minute changes. Coaches check Spond before each practice.
Rowers can use several apps to check conditions at Long Lake prior to practice. A couple to try are Sailflow and Windy. Heading into fall, know that practice is always on regardless of weather conditions – sometimes it will be dryland.
Donations: NRC has an equipment trust fund set up with BC Amateur Sport. All donations of $20 or more are eligible for a tax receipt. It’s easy to donate online to our project, click here: P202 Nanaimo Rowing Club’s Equipment Acquisition Drive.
