If you are interested in helping with any of our events or joining the committee, please contact Lyndsey Denton, POA Member-at-Large, at dorylakesmal@gmail.com.

August Board Elections

Our Annual Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, August 18, at Columbine Park starting at 11:30. We will begin with our business meeting which will include voting on our budget and electing two board members (our other three board members remain on the board for another year). Our barbecue will begin after a guest speaker and announcement of our new board! Bring a side or dessert to share and your own beverages - we will provide hot dogs and hamburgers.

Consider running for the board! If you are interested in running, send an email to Dory Lakes Secretary at dorylakessecretary@gmail.com. To be listed on the proxy voting form, we will need to hear from you before August 9.

If you would like to volunteer to count the election ballots and are not running for the board, contact Gary Sloneker at dorylakespoa@gmail.com. If we do not get volunteers, a member of the current board will count the ballots.

Voting Eligibility and Proxy Voting

We will start checking voting eligibility at 11:30 AM as each property owner, regardless of number of properties owned or number of people owning the property together, gets one vote. Also, only those property owners who have paid their dues this year will be allowed to vote. Please make sure you are current on your dues PRIOR to the meeting. We will not be accepting dues payments to vote at the meeting.

If you cannot make the meeting but wish to send in a proxy vote, we will be setting up an online form the week prior to the meeting to collect those proxies (will we share a Nextdoor post and send an email with a link to the form). If you prefer, you may also email our President at dorylakespoa@gmail.com with your votes, per our by-laws (please do not give your proxy to a neighbor - either email the President or use our online form).

Nuisances, Garbage, Debris Reminders

We’d like to take the time to remind all residents of the protective covenants for Dory Lakes, which can be found on our website. These include references to nuisances and garbage/refuse in our neighborhood:

Claus II, F. Nuisances - No noxious or offensive activity shall be carried upon any building site, nor shall anything be done there on which may be or may become an annoyance to the neighborhood.

Clause II, H. Garbage and Refuse Disposal - No building site shall be used or maintained as a dumping ground for rubbish, trash, slash, garbage, debris or other waste.

If you see this around our neighborhood, please reach out to your Dory Lakes POA Board.
