Dear Friends,
I was honored to make a number of online appearances over the past month. I've been talking about fear..., what it is..., why you have it..., and what to do about it. That inspired the theme of this month's Newsletter. Let's call it the "Performance Edition."

I like to imagine that Aurelius would approve of the core concepts of Cognitive Dominance. I hope you find them valuable.
Let's get started.

Peak Performance is not an accident. It comes about as a result of planning, purpose, and positive action.
Clinical Psychologist Ashley Zultanky, Psy.D., and I got together to discuss the tools for achieving Peak Performance. These tools will serve you in athletics, in business, in medicine, and in all parts of your life. I urge you to schedule an hour to listen in on our conversation. You will learn about the power of "Rules, Routines, and Rituals" and how to apply that thinking to your day-to-day challenges.
Special thanks to Dr. Zultanky for helping to create this conversation framework.

Watch this video and be sure to follow me on YouTube.

New York Metro Top Doctors
|
|
Last month, I was able to share the news that I had been selected again as a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly and recognized in Jersey's Best. 2010 marked my first appearance in the Jersey's Best publication.
This month, I'd like to announce that I have once again been honored by inclusion in the Top Doctors New York Metro Area Guide. It's gratifying to know that patients travel from New York to Princeton for their medical care, which helps demonstrate that world class care is available right here in Princeton.

This publication is unique in that the ONLY way to be included is via nomination by your medical peers and then review by an Editorial Board composed of doctors and experts. Thank you!

Fear requires the future in order to function.
Am I talking about some strange quantum mechanics? No.
I'm actually describing a method of taking control of your life by applying an understanding of how your brain works.

Overcoming Fear and Enhancing Physician Performance
|
|
Many of you know that I have spoken extensively over the past few years about an ongoing crisis in Healthcare. The signs were there before, but the pandemic exacerbated the personal challenges facing doctors and many other healthcare professionals. Burnout is a very real issue, and physicians have been leaving the profession that they dreamed about and dedicated years to joining.
Earlier this month, I was grateful to be invited to join this popular physician oriented podcast and have the opportunity to discuss the problem and to offer solutions. Although targeted at MD's I think you'll find the strategies discussed are useful in any high stress occupation.
You can listen for free on either Apple or on Spotify.
Please let me know what you think.

Peak Performance under Pressure is one thing, but what do you do when you are simply OUT of TIME? How do you build a team in seconds when that's all you have? In this recently restored and enhanced video, I discuss what I've learned about driving Emergency Care at "light speed."
"We Have No Time" is the story of Carla; a young history major on the precipice of death. Hear the bold steps saved her life.
