U of T’s Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Report 2023

The Division of People Strategy, Equity & Culture have released the Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Report 2023, highlighting initiatives that foster belonging for individuals and communities before, during, and after their time with U of T. In doing so, it chronicles EDI activities led by Faculties, divisions, and campuses across the University.

1. Reimagining Leadership Retreat

Closing Tues July 30

Hosted by U of T Student Life, this retreat is a full day at Hart House Farm, where students will embark on a journey towards building community and toward exploring principles of social justice and allyship.

2. BE-STEMM 2024

Tues July 30

The Canadian Black Scientists Network is hosting a three day multidisciplinary program featuring research in STEMM, keynote talks and posters, a panel discussion on Black Health Equity, and more. Register now to attend the virtual activities.

3. Climate, Health & Sustainable Care Inaugural Symposium

Closing Fri Aug 2

Submit your abstracts for this DFCM event, which aims to strengthen our collective capacity to understand and address the health and health system challenges of climate change.

4. Indigenous Citation Workshop

The Indigenous Research Network is hosting a workshop facilitated by Lorisia MacLeod, member of the James Smith Cree Nation, to go over new citation templates to be used in APA and MLA for citing Indigenous Elders and Knowledge Keepers.

5. Driving Change in Healthcare: Equitable Research in Action (ERA) Workshop Series

This workshop series from the Centre for Faculty Development

is designed to empower researchers with the knowledge and tools to incorporate Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism (EDIAR) principles into their work.

6. Applied Mindfulness Program for Medical Personnel

The Office of Clinical and Faculty Affairs invites physicians to register for a training program and study on the impacts of AMP-MP for physicians who work with equity deserving groups. Details of the program are attached above, and interested MDs can register online.
