The African and American Women’s Association (AAWA) Retreat Planning Committee would like to express our sincere gratitude for everyone who came out and participated in our Summer Retreat and our 1st Authors Series that took place Saturday July 20th, 2024. Your presence and active engagement made it an event to remember.
We have received positive comments from attendees about the number of diverse authors that presented. One attendee shared, “I really enjoyed hearing from each author, if possible please send me the information, so I can forward it to other PR sites, the event turned out better than I could have imagined”.
The authors’ presentations were not only educational, but informative, engaging, and thought-provoking. There was the opportunity to network with the authors, wonderful music and delicious refreshments. For those who missed the event, books can still be ordered from each author.
Then, there was an added feature of the Moving to Connect Body, Mind & Spirit session. The audience enjoyed moving to exciting music, stretching and participating in relaxation techniques.
Many thanks to AAWA member Laura Hilton, who is a Deacon at Northminster Presbyterian Church for making it possible for AAWA to host the event at the church at no cost as well as all of the AAWA members who volunteered their time and resources to make it happen.
