'Agriculture Education Day’ cultivates awareness at North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum
BISMARCK, N.D. – The State Historical Society is hosting “Agriculture Education Day” Thursday, Aug. 8, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in Bismarck. This program is free and open to the public. The event features hands-on activities for the entire family.
Agriculture is the leading industry in North Dakota. Visit stations around the State Museum led by individuals and industry groups teaching about past and present agricultural practices. Participate in a rope making demonstration. Watch a blacksmith and a wool spinner demonstrate their skills. Visit with the state veterinarian, and see the equipment used in animal disease control. Get the dirt on protecting the soil. Learn the sweet story of pollinators in the state.
Agriculture Education Day promises an inspiring environment filled with exploration, discovery, and fun. During your visit to the State Museum, be sure to stop by the “Agricultural Innovation” exhibit in the Inspiration Gallery: Yesterday and Today. Immerse yourself in our rich agricultural history. Stand in a full-size grain silo, match the seed with the crop and final product, and sit inside the modern tractor simulator to experience planting or harvesting crops.
