I’m here to share tips and resources to make your week a little more curious, and a little less sucky. Hopefully, you like it, but if you don’t want these, just respond to this with “Unsubscribe”!

Quick Reflection

Are you still feeling burnt out?

One of the questions from my Burnout Reflection Journal may help:

“How are your personal and work boundaries lately?”

  • What time are you shutting down/leaving your computer, workplace, or LinkedIn? Is it when you wanted to?

  • If not, what is preventing you from protecting your time and recharging?

Keeping our boundaries is a hard thing to do, but they exist for a reason!

Hold yourself accountable. Make sure you have something to look forward to after work or your job searching that is even MORE enticing than staying. This way, you can truly 'shut off' at the time you wanted to.

Remember, you will NEVER be finished with all your work or every job application that exists. So how will you know when you're done for the day and when it's good ENOUGH?

Focus on doing what you can with the time you have and then logging off at the time you said you would. Give yourself permission to rest so you can show up for the people in your life and yourself. You can afford to log off, you can’t afford to burn out.

Resources of the Week

Here are three TED talks that I love for rethinking work-life balance. Hope you enjoy them!

Here’s also a book I've been reading: Enchantment: Awakening Wonder in an Anxious Age by Katherine May. Reawaken your innate sense of wonder and awe.

AGEISM CONCERNS?

Here’s a resource I’ve been sending to my career coaching clients who are sick of companies that may overlook them or judge them due to their age. This association and website has vetted companies that have been certified “age-friendly”.

When I do Resume Rehauls and LinkedIn Profile Optimizations, I employ strategies that minimize the effects of ageism.
