You are warmly invited to your Club's next meeting
at 7.30pm on Thursday 5 September

This year marks the centenary of the Salts Sports grounds, the inaugural sporting gala having taken place in August, 1924. To celebrate, we’re going to look back at
Saltaire’s Sporting Heritage
Our guide will beleading local sports historian, JOHN DEWHIRST
John is a long-standing Bradford City football club supporter and has written several books on the history of Bradford City and the origins of sport in the district. He edits the must-see VINCIT online journal https://bradfordsporthistory.com
Features on VINCIT that are relevant to John’s talk include the history of Shipley FC, who played opposite the Ring of Bells, and of Bingley FC at Wagon Lane - and how sport has had a big part in shaping a local identity.
The meeting will take place at the Methodist Church lounge, 7.30 on Thursday 5 September. The church fronts Saltaire Road BD18 3HJ. The lounge is at the rear.
